Summertime is finally here! This is my favorite season and it seems each summer always ends with its own dedicated playlist. Usually these are top songs you hear at events, on the radio, and ones that just won't leave your head on those beach days. Well, if your speakers need some inspiration, here are a few playlists and other summer music I found that will get anyone dancing, singing, running...you get the idea. My favorite pop song of the summer is "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke ft. T.I. & Pharrell. Here's a list of that song and other pop hits (with videos!) that will surely be remembered as hits of 2013.
Looking for something more classic? This comprehensive list of summer themed songs features hits from the Billboard Hot 100 chart from 1958 - the inception of the chart - all the way through 2013. You'll find everything from the 1938 hit song "Cruel Summer" to the 1963 Beach Boys' "Surfer Girl" to Katy Perry's "California Gurls" from 2010. These are definitely songs you can listen to at your desk to get you pumped for the upcoming summer weekend!
And of course, I'm always on the hunt for a playlist that will motivate me to work out, especially during those summer bathing-suit-weather months. I've recently been turning to the smart phone app iHeart Radio for playlists - you can now create stations that are "perfect for..." and their workout lists are great. I turn to the 50 minute workout list and haven't been disappointed with any of the songs that come on and keep me going.
This high-energy playlist will also keep your eye on the prize when at the gym. It includes 40 workout songs that start with a gradual warm-up and then inspire you to pick up the pace. A great list for your workout, start to finish!
What songs are you turning up this summer?
