Winter has been selfish in New York this year and spring is being too shy. The first refuses to let the second come in. However, while those two keep their debate, summer is anxious to make its entrance packed with enthusiasm and bringing with it a lot of live music. On the West Coast and down in TX the festivals' buzz started earlier with Coachella and SXSW, but there's still much more to come in the coming months of summer and a lot of you may already have a music festival in your sights or even tickets in hand (Tell me about it, I got my tickets for the Governor's Ball two months ago!).
While DJ's and bands of all styles may be confirmed to grace the different musical line-ups at these shows, you still have time to ask yourself "What am I going to wear?" Well, here are some summer festival fashion must-haves that you can rock while you indulge in your next live music experience.
Floral and tropical prints There's really no spring or summer without floral patterns! An item of this kind could be your first option, but whether you decide to go for flowers on your shirt, shorts, cardigan or dress, it's sure to be a success! Tribal prints are a great festival option as well.
Flowers in your hair Yeah, more flowers. Some people love it, some just hate it. Some of these are a bit intense, but if you're not so risky with fashion, you can just pick a headband with little, subtle daisies instead of a full bouquet.
Cropped tops and high-waisted shorts These two go together like pancakes and syrup. They're the most infamous duo of the summer and quite the sexy combination. Keep it classy though by not showing your belly button or perhaps add a soft cardigan to the outfit if you feel a little uncomfortable showing too much skin.
Little white dress LBD's are for the nights, LWD's are for outdoor fun times. If you want to party like a rock star while still looking like a lady, pick a fresh and simple white dress. Then, pair it with bohemian accessories or accent pieces in neutral colors. However, just be sure the weather forecast says nothing about rain on your concert day!
Crochet Whether you choose something in a neutral color palette or with a color explosion, wearing a crochet piece is definitely also "in" this season.
Comfortable shoes Whatever you decide to wear, just make sure it goes with the most comfortable shoes you can find. My suggestion is to wear your oldest and favorite pair of slip-ons. You don't want to ruin the good vibe complaining about your feet.
So, there you go. You can pick and choose your favorite trend or even mix a few of them together. In addition to the fashion, though, don't forget to wear a lot of sunscreen and a huge smile. And of course, enjoy the music!
