"And the #HPHolidays charitable donation winner is..."

The holiday season is all about family, celebrations and the act of giving. We know, of course, that the giving of gifts to family and friends is an incredibly rewarding part of the season. And yet, the giving of time, donations and even expertise to those in the broader community is just as fulfilling and as important as ever. Here at House Party we're taking the opportunity over the next month to bring you some posts that take a closer look at giving back. In a recent blog post, we brought you with us while we spent time at a local charitable organization in New York, Family-to-Family. That was just the beginning, though. Almost a week ago, at the #HPHolidays Twitter Party, you brought not only your great recipe ideas and family traditions, but also the names of some of the charitable organizations that you've worked with and to whom you think we should donate this holiday season. One of these organizations will be the recipient of a $1,000 donation from House Party, but we need you to help us decide who!

From the numerous charity names you tweeted (all of which we were thrilled to see!), we selected five charitable organizations for you to vote on from November 22 - 26: Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Ronald McDonald House Charities, The Humane Society of the United States, The Salvation Army USA and Toys for Tots Foundation. And vote you did!

We're thrilled to announce that with your votes Ronald McDonald House Charities has been selected as the recipient of our $1,000 holiday donation. Thanks to all the participants of our #HPHolidays Twitter Party and for voting to help us proudly recognize an organization that's making a difference each and every day.
