A Helping Hand in Harvey's Wake
The aftermath of Hurricane Harvey continues to leave us speechless as we digest more and more images and accounts of the storm's devastation. While areas from Port Aransas through the wreckage in Houston all the way to havoc sustained in Bridge City show lasting destruction that will take weeks and months to recover from, the storm's impact has collectively ripped-open a wound in us all as Americans.
This storm has fundamentally redefined the scope of a meteorological catastrophe. With rainfall nearly tripling the next most potent and saturated hurricanes on record, Hurricane Harvey has opened our eyes to the extreme need of many families and communities left to work through the lasting effects in the region. There are a multitude of ways to take part in the support and recovery efforts and we encourage you and your family to find support causes to whom you can dedicate your donations and volunteer time.
One such initiative is a partnership between our friends at Kleenex® brand and the National Diaper Bank Network, who have teamed-up to urgently provide everyday essential items to those in need in the wake of this tragedy. For more details on the amazing work that they're doing, simply click on the image below or the link below that to donate to the National Diaper Bank Network.
Through its long-standing relationship with the National Diaper Bank Network, Kimberly-Clark is working to provide every day essentials including facial tissue, diapers, toilet paper, feminine care products and other everyday essentials. Kimberly-Clark encourages others to join in supporting efforts to mobilize the delivery of basic need items by donating to the National Diaper Bank Network. 100 percent of donations will go directly to assist those affected by the storm and its aftermath.
As we eye another superstorm, Hurricane Irma, blazing a path of destruction towards the shores of Florida and the Carolinas, we ask particularly those fortunate enough to not be directly affected by these storms to help take up the mission to provide additional support - whether financial (such as in the initiative above), supplies or even direct outreach with trade skills to help stabilize and rebuild in the area. With your help, we can have those people and communities that have been affected back on their feet in much, much less time.
