Pack Your Bags: Machu Picchu - Passport to a Wonder of the World!
It was a #PERUTIFUL TRIP!
Last September 2016, I was fortunate enough to head to Peru with my several of my good friends. Thanks to their amazing planning skills, we enjoyed a week visiting Machu Picchu, the wonderful towns surrounding it, as well as roaming the mystical Incan Ruins.
We started our trip in the romantic city of Cuzco and made our way from there. Throughout our trip we stayed in various hostels - all with more personality than then next. Deciding to forego three days of hiking, we took the Peru Rail - seated in a luxury train covered in windows - called the Vistadome. As a result, we could take in the vibrant scenery of the journey. We spent several hours making our way to the town just outside Machu Picchu itself. Once there, we celebrated each day with Pisco Sours and selfies with the local alpacas!
Once we finally reached the Wonder, we couldn't believe our eyes. History was right at our finger tips. We did a hike up the steep Wayna Picchu in order to have a birds eye view of Machu Picchu. I've always dreamed about what it would be like to sit in a time machine, but I think visiting Machu Picchu was a close second. I'll let these pictures below tell a story, and if you ever need advice or recommendations for Machu Picchu you know where the comment section is!
